OK! While I was out at the National Youth Ministry Conference last week, I found out that there was no one doing rural ministry curriculum for people like me. SO, here is my shot. What you will find on this page will be things that I have used and that have worked. Feel free to use it and enjoy!

Tough Questions:
This is by far, one of the best things that I have used on a Wednesday night. All you need is to take 3 to 6 pieces of poster board and write some questions at the top. For example, “why do we attend church?”. Lay all of the poster boards on tables and let the kids answer them. Then for each week, you already have your topic and discussion right there on the poster. The kids were really receptive to this and went really well!
Ripped From the Headlines:
This is a great one the I got from my pastor’s wife. She gave me a bunch of newspaper headlines with different subjects. This works great when you are in a bind and need something quick. I took 3 clippings and gave eack topic about 15 min. and just let the kids discuss things pertaining to the topic.

What were some of the other questions?
Hey, sorry that it has been a while for me to get back to you. It seems like the more involved in ministry I get, the less time I get to check my mail. Some of the questions that I asked were…..
Why do we go to church?
What does it mean to be saved?
What is accountability?
Just come up with questions where you think that your youth group might need to talk about or questions that they know little about. Let me know if this helps.
ps….search “tough questions” in the search box and you will see the poster pics!
Thanks for getting back to me. No worries about it taking so long.
) I thought I would write to tell you what we did, so you could tell other people about it, if you had more people asking.
I did 5 questions. The group of kids we are targeting with this are mostly “crowd” students. They come to church, but that is it. So I was trying to think of a way to get them to start thinking about spiritual things, and these questions worked out GREAT! Praise the Lord!

1.-What does God think about Tattoos?
2.-What does God think about Evolution?
3.-What does God think about Possessions?
4.-What does God think about Dating?
5.-How do you know God exists?
When we did the lessons (we are on #3 right now) we always bring it back to some sort of salvation tie in. It is working out great! Tattoos we ended it with what is the condition of your heart. Evolution we reminded them that man is with out excuse (romans 1:20). And tonight we are going to do Possessions, and look at the guy who stored up stuff for himself and then sat back to eat drink and be merry, and then his “soul was required of him”. Anyway, just thought you would be interested. #5 we are going to spend more time on next semester. Should be good! Thanks for the thoughts!
