I was just looking on Twitter, and I saw one of my good buddy’s “Tweets” that talked about people worshiping Michael Jackson like an idol. That got me thinking….worshiping false gods…….I’ve heard that before. So, here is another lesson on MJ. [more...]

Message Topic: Worshiping false gods
I got home today to find my wife watching the MJ memorial service in TV. The more that I watched, the more I couldn’t stand to watch. Since the first word of Michael’s passing, the media has went over the deep end with interview after interview about his life and his legacy. We see these candlelight vigils all over the world with people sobbing over his death. It seems more and more these days, our generation puts these ordinary people on such a “high horse” they become “god-like”. Why? They are no different from us. Other that they have a talent that GOD gave them.
When I think about the worship of Michael Jackson, I think back to the story about the Golden Calf in the book of Exodus. You need to read the full chapter to fully grasp what happened. Moses was gone for a long time, and the Israelites were growing impatient. So, they had Aaron make an idol for them to worship. When he did, the people danced around and worshiped this cow. I feel that this is how the people are doing with the passing of MJ.
The more this world evolves, we grow further and further from God. What will it take for this country to turn back to God. I wonder what God is saying about the people who are worshiping the death of MJ? We need to quit worrying about these pop/reality/mega stars! They will let you down in a heart beat. But, God will never let you down. THAT IS A PROMISE THAT YOU CAN TAKE TO THE BANK!!!!!!!!!

Imagine that as Michael looks down upon all the buzz and excitement and tears that his death has generated, it was worth his dying especially at the pinnacle of his career. Imagine that if he had lived to engaged himself in the concerts that he was obligated to do, he would have failed miserably as the super star he wants was. Imagine Michael’s drug addictions and cosmetic surgeries seriously damaging his breathing, respiratory system, stamina and endurance. Imagine there is a time and place for everything and his place and time came to a peak. Imagine God is good all the time and all the time GOD is good. Imagine Michael in heaven at peace with himself…
We know Michael will stand before a just God and He will decide if Michael will enter His Forever Land (heaven).
Barry your summary is right on target.
