Well, the climb out keeps coming and tonight was no exception. I was a little aggravated by some kids who called me late for church, which made us 15 minutes late. So, I made the kids go and sit in “Big Church” and listen to Pastor Basil preach. And preach he did!! [more...]
He got his text from Psalm 33:12. He talked about a nation with prayer would not be like the way we are living today. He heard that in the first congress or senate, during Washington’s presidency, they would have a prayer meeting before they went to work. Sometimes it would last 3 hours. Wow! He also said that if we did that more, I mean real humble ourselves before the Lord and really pour our heart out to God, how much of a better place this would be? The best part was when he was talking about having a real prayer meeting and really praying for God to move in Leon, people were nodding “yes”. He boldly said right back, “you people who are shaking your head yes, I notice that you don’t show up in Wednesday night. So, I had better see you there.” That was some serious preaching. It came at a time when I really needed to hear it. My prayer life really SUCKS! Sorry if that offends some of you, but it really does. But, this is the kick in the pants that I needed to get down on my knees and pour my heart out to God and let him fix the problems in my life and not me! I can’t do it without him!!
