Today was supposed to be a day of relaxation for me at church today, boy was I wrong. My daughter was staying at my Mom and Dad’s house, and my wife had to work today. I got to church to find that no one was driving the church van. I went inside to find that the driver on Sunday was on vacation and I was not told of this. So I got up and went to the church van and went and picked up the couple of kids that we have on Sunday morning. I was about 15 minutes late. The kids went to Sunday school and I went off to big church.
Here is what I don’t understand, if you are going on vacation and you will not be at church on Sunday, which is that day that you drive the church van, you think that you would call someone to cover for you. To beat all, this is not the first situation that this has happened. The high school Sunday school teacher has not been showing up and not finding a back-up teacher. Then people just look at me like, “are you going to take care of that”. Sometime I feel like ever since I was asked to be youth pastor, that all kid related stuff just falls into my lap. I get no time for me! I get no time to just sit in church and really worship God. I just sit in church and try to get the kids to calm down and quit talking.
Maybe I am just rambling, and I don’t know if you who read this can relate to this. I just would like some people in my church to step up and help out a little more.
